We had a wonderful family holiday at the Birkenhof in 2019 - 4 generations from great-grandmother to grandchildren

Beautiful courtyard in a very beautiful landscape. Unfortunately mostly closed due to Corona. But, 400 meters further in the direction of Holthusen, there is the Lingemann-König natural bakery. Good bread every Monday, the owners are very friendly. When we were there, there were delicious cookies.

If you're looking for a traditional kitchen experience, you've come to the right place! The decor, the ambience and the friendly staff justify a detour via the tranquil Holthausen. We'd love to come back. Card payment was not possible, but the friendly hostess made it possible for us to transfer money directly.

Super nice holiday farm run with great attention to detail. We were with our 4 year old son in a small family apartment in the old farmhouse. Every morning the children were able to feed the animals with great enthusiasm, afterwards there was a delicious breakfast with home-roasted coffee and always friendly hosts. Then a pony ride, a piece of warm apple pie during the café opening times, in between enjoying the view of the Sauerland, reading a few pages in a book, a round of bobby cars. And all of that in good or bad weather ... no problem. We could have stayed longer and will definitely be back. :-)

Delicious home-roasted coffee and wonderful cake in a family atmosphere. Playground equipment for the children without end, and an incomparable view! PERFECT!

Delicious cakes, friendly and nice staff. The area is beautiful, the coffee comes from our own roastery. The apartments are tidy and clean, there are great games. The morning feeding of the animals, the animals they love, opportunities to ride out, pet animals, etc. Everything is there to have a great time. We will come again.

A real oasis with a great view, especially for families with small children. And the cake in the café is extremely tasty. ;-)

We spent a week as holiday guests at the Birkenhof and were completely satisfied. The children had a lot of fun feeding the animals and riding the pony. There was nothing to complain about in the apartment and the cakes and tarte flambée from the Hofcafė were excellent. Which of course also applies to the coffee on the farm. The area offers enough possibilities for excursions, should the farm become too small. If the time is right, we'll be back next year - Corona wants.

It was just super relaxing. Nice relaxing place for families. There is really a lot offered to the children. We will be back definitely. Thank you for the nice days.

A wonderful holiday farm, family-run, with plenty of variety for young and old. There are numerous accommodations from smaller rooms to larger apartments, almost all of them with a terrace into the green and a distant view of the beautiful Sauerland landscape. Plus a wonderful breakfast in the cafe, don't miss it! Ride a pony almost every day for six euros. And on the farm there is an excellent country café with regional cakes, pies and coffee from our own coffee roastery !! 5 star recommendation. 😃

Very friendly and accommodating! We have just arrived and were served immediately. Outside and inside very nice. The cappuccino was absolutely great and the cake as well. I can only recommend. When parking we had no problems. I can only recommend! ☺️

Great place for a vacation rental. The apartments are nicely and simply furnished. There is plenty of space and everything you need. The terrace facing the garden, which has play areas for children of all ages, is great. It is also nice to help feed the animals in the morning or to go on a pony walk. On some days breakfast is served in the café, which is not to be missed. Everyone was friendly and made you feel welcome.

This week we spent a week in a Ferienwohnung at Birkenhof for the second time. It's a perfect place for a vacation with kids. They can feed the animals, ride ponies and play in the indoor playroom. The breadservice is really convenient. Holthausen is located in the middle of the Hoch Sauerland, providing a lot of opportunity for hiking. When the weather is bad, a pool or indoor playsite is nearby. The host really makes you feel welcome. Many thanks, we will surely come and visit again!
